FAQ
1. What is the difference between 6GK1500-0DA00 and recommended alternatives?
• The 6GK1500-0DA00 supports a maximum transfer rate of 1.5 Mbit/s with a 1.5 m cable.
• The recommended replacement, 6GK1500-0AA10 (PROFIBUS Bus Terminal 12M), supports up to 12 Mbit/s.
2. Are there known transmission or capacitive load issues with older batches?
• Yes. Bus terminals shipped between November 1997 and February 1998 can exhibit transmission problems due to increased capacitive bus load from the connecting cable.
• How to identify affected units: Look at the type label on the connector for Ident-Nr containing DI xx PRV (where xx = JN, JD, K1, or K2), or check if the connecting cable has a smaller diameter (4 to 5 mm) and a lighter shade (light beige). Units affected by this historical defect were eligible for factory repair through Siemens.
